Marlinda’s MOD Skincare marks 30 years in Burlingame with a free anniversary mixer and ribbon cutting Thursday, Oct. 15, while searching for a new location.
The celebration runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1199 Howard Ave., Suite 101. The Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce is organizing the event with the business. Refreshments and a ceremonial ribbon cutting are planned.
Burlingame Mayor Michael Brownrigg is expected to attend, according to an emailed announcement supplied by the business.
Marlinda Wilson founded the skincare business in 1996, according to the company’s website. Three generations now work side by side at the spa: Wilson, her daughter Mia and her granddaughter. The website says Wilson has more than two decades of experience in permanent makeup artistry.
The anniversary comes as the business searches for another space. In its emailed announcement, Marlinda’s said its landlord declined to renew the lease at its current location, where it has operated for 15 years.
The business said it intends to remain in downtown Burlingame and will continue taking appointments while looking for a suitable location. If necessary, it plans to arrange a temporary Burlingame space while the search continues.
The Oct. 15 celebration is open to the public. Residents can RSVP through the Eventbrite listing.
