Burlingame High families will get a look at the San Mateo Union High School District’s (SMUHSD) spending plan when the Board of Trustees holds a special study session on the 2026-27 budget at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.
The budget presentation is the only presentation listed in the district’s meeting preview, according to the district’s meeting notice. Board President Teri Chavez leads the five-member board, which includes trustee Greg Land, a Burlingame resident, and trustee Robert H. Griffin, according to the district’s board roster.
The session will be held at the district office, 650 N. Delaware St. in San Mateo. Residents can also join by Zoom (webinar ID: 955 8452 1141, passcode: 995656).
Those who want to speak can fill out a “Request to Address the Board” form on-site and submit it before the relevant agenda item begins, or use Zoom’s raised-hand feature, according to the district’s meeting access page. Comments are normally limited to three minutes, though the board president may adjust the time. The board also accepts written comments at [email protected].
The district requests at least three working days’ notice to arrange assistance for public comments in languages other than English. That notice window has passed for this session. Residents seeking assistance can contact Charlene Aquino, senior executive coordinator to the superintendent, at 650-558-2201.
The next regular board meeting is Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.
