The Burlingame Community for Education Foundation named Grupology, a tutoring and enrichment company at 1419 Chapin Ave., as its latest community business spotlight on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Grupology founder Rosy Cohen, a Burlingame resident since 2010 and former Burlingame School District parent, runs year-round academic programs, seasonal camps and chess instruction out of the Chapin Avenue location. The company also operates a new San Mateo location at 885 El Camino Real and offers online options.
"I've called Burlingame home since 2010, when my older son was just two months old," Cohen said in the BCE Foundation spotlight. "We moved here excited to raise our family in a wonderful community and give our children access to great schools."
Cohen, originally from San Francisco, has lived in Burlingame for more than 15 years.
Grupology's offerings range from small-group classes to one-on-one tutoring. The company also volunteers at the Burlingame Library once a month, running free chess sessions where staff teach and play with community members.
The BCE Foundation called Grupology a "longtime and dedicated business partner supporting Burlingame public schools." The foundation did not specify when the partnership began or when Grupology was founded.
BCE's business partner network has grown significantly in recent years. The foundation reported in September 2025 that its sponsor roster had expanded to 32 local businesses, a 60 percent increase in one year. Those sponsors collectively contributed $220,000 to support Burlingame schools, according to a BCE partnership update, more than double the previous year's giving.
For the 2025-26 school year, BCE granted more than $3 million to the Burlingame School District, funding 20 teachers and reaching 3,415 students, according to the foundation's annual report.
Cohen said she supports BCE because "our schools and teachers are foundational to a thriving community."
The monthly chess volunteer sessions at the Burlingame Library are open to the public.
