Burlingame's Traffic Safety and Parking Commission will weigh traffic calming measures for North Rollins Road when it meets Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 501 Primrose Road.

The North Rollins item tops a three-item action agenda that also includes a trial multiway stop update and a first look at the 2027 street resurfacing program. A Broadway Parking subcommittee report rounds out the evening.

Thursday's session is the commission's first since July 9. The Aug. 13 meeting was canceled.

North Rollins Road

The North Rollins Road project, City Project No. 86670, is a "complete street" redesign tied to the North Rollins Specific Plan. That plan envisions a high-density residential and live/work district with better access to the Millbrae multimodal transit station.

Planned changes include a road diet, Class IV separated bikeways and striping improvements aimed at lowering vehicle speeds, according to the city's project page. Design firm CSWST2, which is leading the redesign, has also described enhanced crossings and ADA-compliant infrastructure as part of the scope.

The agenda lists a staff report, an outreach summary and a copy of the plan set as attachments, suggesting the commission could vote on the design. The project was previously presented to the commission at its March 13, 2025, meeting.

Broadway parking

Vice-Chair Jennifer Johnson and Commissioner Irenee French will deliver a subcommittee report on Broadway parking. The item is informational, not an action item.

The commission voted 5-0 on April 9 to approve a Broadway parking plan that converted nine two-hour spaces in Lot R to 10-hour spaces, modified Lot S and removed six on-street spaces on California Drive between Juanita and Rhinette to ease a southbound queuing bottleneck, according to meeting minutes.

At that April 9 meeting, Johnson said the long-term parking changes offered some relief but were not a full solution for employee parking, and she emphasized the California Drive improvements. Staff reported that long-term parking in the Broadway area reaches capacity after 10 a.m.

Other agenda items

The commission will also review a trial multiway stop. The agenda does not identify which intersection is involved. A staff report and presentation are attached.

The 2027 Annual Street Resurfacing Program gets its first commission review Thursday. The current 2026 resurfacing project was awarded to O'Grady Paving, Inc. in May. Specific streets slated for 2027 work have not been released publicly.

Police Department collision reports for July and August 2026 are listed as information items.
