Disen Cai Real Estate Group has given more than $550,000 to Burlingame schools, nonprofits and community organizations, the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE) said in a spotlight published Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The Keller Williams-affiliated team is led by founder Disen Cai and Managing Director Abby Cai, who live in Burlingame with their son, Anze, born earlier in 2026. Disen Cai grew up on the Peninsula and attended Mills High School. He has worked in real estate for 13 years.

The couple told BCE their involvement started through relationships built while working with Burlingame families. It has since become personal. With a newborn son, the Cais said becoming parents added a new layer to their commitment to the community.

"Strong communities are built by the people who live and work in them," Disen Cai said in the spotlight. "When local businesses support our schools and organizations like BCE, we're helping preserve the connection, involvement, and sense of community that makes Burlingame such a special place."

The Cais also acknowledged the challenges Bay Area educators face with the region's high cost of living, saying they are grateful for teachers' commitment to Burlingame students.

BCE, now in its 45th year, awarded a record $3.21 million grant to the Burlingame School District for the 2026-27 school year. The foundation has directed $42.6 million to Burlingame public schools since its founding in 1981, according to a July 2026 anniversary report.

Business giving has surged alongside the Cais' contributions. In the 2024-25 school year, 37 local businesses gave more than $245,000 to BCE, more than double the prior year's total, according to a separate BCE leadership announcement.

BCE's Fall Drive for the 2026-27 school year is underway, with a recommended contribution of $2,200 per student. Donations made by Sunday, Nov. 1 include a complimentary 45th anniversary lawn sign, according to BCE's back-to-school announcement.
