Burlingame High's girls flag football team beat Woodside 26-7 on Monday, Oct. 12, extending its winning streak to two games and improving to 6-4 on the season, according to Burlingame High Athletics and MaxPreps.

The road victory was the Panthers' second lopsided win over Woodside this fall. Burlingame beat the Wildcats 32-6 at home on Sept. 16, a game in which junior Colette Uharriet scored four touchdowns, including two on kickoff returns, according to The Burlingame B.

The win caps a bounce-back stretch for head coach Isabel Hernandez's squad. Burlingame suffered a 20-7 loss at Menlo-Atherton on Oct. 5, falling behind after taking an early 7-0 lead, the M-A Chronicle reported. The Panthers responded with a 14-6 home win over Mills on Oct. 7 before rolling past Woodside five days later.

After the Sept. 16 Woodside win, Hernandez told The Burlingame B her focus was building the team's belief in itself. "I feel like my biggest thing for them right now is confidence as a group," Hernandez said.

That approach has carried Burlingame through a season of sharp swings. The Panthers lost their opener 19-6 to Menlo-Atherton on Sept. 9, then won two straight over Mills and Woodside before falling to Carlmont 27-0 on Sept. 21. They bounced back with wins over Aragon (26-19) and Hillsdale (18-0) before a close 26-22 loss at San Mateo on Sept. 30.

Burlingame sits fourth in the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) Bay Division at 6-4, according to MaxPreps.

Burlingame faces league-leading Carlmont on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4:30 p.m. The Panthers then host Aragon on Monday, Oct. 19, visit Hillsdale on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and close the stretch at home against San Mateo on Monday, Oct. 26.
