Burlingame High's girls tennis program posted its 2026 junior varsity and varsity rosters on Tuesday, Sept. 29, as the Panthers navigate early Peninsula Athletic League play.

Burlingame High School Athletics shared the rosters on the school's official social media account, with player names listed in image attachments. The same day, the Panthers traveled to Mills High School for a 4 p.m. PAL match.

Head coach Sheila Higgins Druskin and assistant coach Marcy Martinucci lead the program. The Panthers opened at home on Sept. 8 against Sequoia in 92-degree heat and rolled to a 5-2 victory, according to The Burlingame B.

The doubles lineup dominated. All three pairs shut out their opponents 6-0, 6-0: No. 1 doubles juniors Greta Martin and Ella Vuong, No. 2 doubles senior Ali Endicott and sophomore Bailey Endicott, and No. 3 doubles junior Fabiana Sarubbi and senior Emily Simon.

Junior singles player Ella Schoeler provided the drama. After splitting the first two sets 6-2, 3-6, Schoeler won a tiebreaker 11-9 to clinch her match.

"She hung in there and was just steady. No emotion when she lost. I mean, it was so close. That's how you win that. Just stay the course," Martinucci told The Burlingame B after the Sept. 8 opener.

The team also plays on resurfaced courts at the Burlingame High campus on Mangini Way. The courts were redone over the summer. Junior Fabiana Sarubbi told The Burlingame B on Sept. 9 that the upgrade made a difference: "Playing on new courts is amazing. … It just feels good to have brand new courts, and I feel everyone is playing better on them too."

The early-season momentum hit a bump when Menlo-Atherton edged the Panthers 4-3, according to the M-A Chronicle. The loss snapped a three-year Burlingame winning streak against the Bears. M-A sophomore Lucia Rose won the deciding point in a singles-four tiebreak, 6-7, 6-3, 10-2.
