Two Burlingame High School students will see their artwork on “I Voted” stickers distributed to Burlingame voters for the Nov. 3 election.

Senior Kaleo Tapio and junior Caroline Yeh won the city’s sticker design contest and were recognized at the Oct. 19 Burlingame City Council meeting, according to an announcement on the Burlingame High website. A photo on the school site shows the pair holding recognition certificates at the meeting.

Yeh founded Crochet for a Cause, a community-service club, during her freshman year. The club has donated about 50 crocheted projects and hosted workshops around the community, according to a profile in The Burlingame B, the school’s student newspaper.

In that profile, Yeh described how the club evolved as more students joined.

“Initially, I thought it would be mostly experienced crocheters, but it turns out that there’s a lot of people who want to learn, but they just haven’t had the chance to,” Yeh said.

Burlingame’s Nov. 3 election is less than two weeks away.
