Burlingame families can pitch a tent and spend the night at Washington Field on Friday, Sept. 11.
Burlingame Parks and Recreation is hosting a Family Camp Out that runs from 5 p.m. Friday through 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, according to the city's event calendar. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner and activities run by outside vendors. After dark, families will gather for an outdoor screening of the original "Cars" movie. Participants get a pancake breakfast Saturday morning before packing up.
The event listing also appears on the Franklin Elementary PTA website, though the city calendar is the official source for logistics.
