Burlingame High's JV football team opened Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) De Anza Division play with a 17-7 win at Palo Alto on Friday, Oct. 9, pushing its season record to 6-0, according to MaxPreps.

The Panthers traveled to Earl Hansen Viking Stadium for the 4 p.m. kickoff, according to Burlingame High School Athletics on X. The loss dropped Palo Alto's JV squad to 3-3.

The 6-0 start has been built on lopsided margins. The Panthers outscored their five non-league opponents by a combined 200-13, recording three shutouts before the league opener.

Burlingame opened with a 47-0 win over Piedmont Hills on Aug. 28, blanked Carlmont 48-0 on Sept. 4 and beat Arroyo 34-6 on Sept. 12. A 42-0 shutout of Hillsdale on Sept. 17 and a 29-7 victory against Menlo School on Sept. 26 rounded out the non-league slate, according to MaxPreps.

The Panthers' closest non-league game was the Sept. 26 matchup against Menlo School, a 29-7 result that still represented a comfortable 22-point margin. The Oct. 9 win over Palo Alto, at 10 points, was the tightest contest Burlingame has played.

Burlingame hosts Half Moon Bay (4-2) in its next PAL De Anza Division game on Friday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m., according to Half Moon Bay’s official schedule. The Cougars enter that matchup coming off a 41-15 league loss to Woodside, according to Half Moon Bay’s MaxPreps JV page.
