Burlingame High varsity volleyball finished 1-3 at the Chandler Invitational, picking up one win in four matches at Menlo School before turning back to league play.

The result came after a strong close to the first half of Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division competition. Head coach Hannah Korslund's Panthers swept a doubleheader against Half Moon Bay on Oct. 1 to cap the first-half schedule, BHS Athletics said on X. Burlingame also beat Sequoia in four sets on Sept. 28.

The Chandler Invitational was held at Menlo School over the weekend. BHS Athletics posted the 1-3 final on Saturday. The program did not release individual match scores or opponents.

The Panthers' roster features several returning contributors. Junior setter Elaina Newman, senior outside hitter Jordan Toomey and sophomore libero Aisla Haggarty have been key pieces this fall, according to The Burlingame B, the school's student newspaper.

Burlingame travels to Menlo-Atherton on Tuesday, Oct. 6, for a 5:45 p.m. first serve to open the second half of Bay Division play.

The JV squad enters the second half riding seven consecutive wins and a 12-set winning streak after its own sweep of Half Moon Bay on Oct. 1. JV opens a three-game homestand against Menlo-Atherton on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with first serve at 4:30 p.m.
