A Fremont man has been arrested in connection with a residential burglary at a vacant home in the Burlingame Hills neighborhood, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday, July 25.
The burglary occurred overnight on April 16 on the 100 block of Los Robles Drive in unincorporated San Mateo County. Deputies responded the following day after receiving a report that personal property and a vehicle had been stolen from the home. The property owner had recently died and the house was unoccupied at the time, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The arrest followed a roughly three-month investigation that stretched from April through late July. Investigators used automated license plate reader technology during the investigation, and the case, which involved stolen credit cards, had connections to both Fremont and Oakland, according to the San Mateo Daily Journal.
The Sheriff's Office has not publicly identified the suspect by name or released specific charges. The suspect's age and booking details were not included in the agency's announcement.
The 100 block of Los Robles Drive sits in unincorporated county territory just outside Burlingame city limits, placing the case under the Sheriff's Office rather than the Burlingame Police Department.
