Marufuku Ramen opened Sunday, Oct. 11, at 225 Lorton Ave. in downtown Burlingame, adding a new Hakata-style ramen restaurant to the city’s dining scene.
The restaurant’s published regular hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Marufuku specializes in tonkotsu ramen, featuring a creamy broth made by simmering pork bones for hours and served with thin noodles. The chain’s website also highlights chicken paitan ramen, small rice bowls and Japanese appetizers. Specific offerings may vary by location.
Japanese entrepreneur Eiichi Mochizuki founded Marufuku in San Francisco’s Japantown in 2017, according to Diablo Magazine. The chain has since expanded across California and Texas, with other Peninsula locations listed in Redwood City and Palo Alto.
The Burlingame Chamber of Commerce welcomed the restaurant as a new member Oct. 10 and promoted its Sunday grand opening.
Diners can find location information on the Burlingame store page or call 650-242-1523.
