A massage therapist who worked at a Millbrae parlor now faces eight criminal counts involving seven alleged victims, the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday, July 15.
Enli Fang, 72, of San Bruno, is charged with three counts of felony sexual battery, three counts of misdemeanor sexual battery, one count of elder abuse and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object, according to Deputy District Attorney Shin-Mee Chang. Fang worked at massage parlors in Millbrae and San Carlos. The DA's Office has not publicly identified the businesses by name.
Three new alleged victims were added to the case, bringing the total to seven, Chang said. The alleged incidents span from 2021 to 2026, and involve inappropriate sexual contact with clients during massage sessions, according to the DA's Office.
Fang is in custody on $130,000 bail.
The charges include elder abuse, which under California Penal Code Section 368 applies when a victim is 65 or older. That charge carries potential state prison time if the case proceeds to trial and results in a conviction.
Preliminary hearing set for September
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8. At that proceeding, a judge will determine whether sufficient evidence exists to hold Fang over for trial.
The Millbrae location where Fang allegedly worked sits directly adjacent to Burlingame, making the case a concern for residents who patronize massage businesses along the El Camino Real corridor and surrounding commercial areas.
Chang's announcement of the expanded charges came via the San Mateo County DA's Office on July 15.
