Stella & Dot, a jewelry and accessories brand headquartered in Burlingame, has opened its first-ever brick-and-mortar boutique at 1412 Burlingame Ave.

The company announced the store in a July 7 Instagram post, calling it "the first-ever Stella & Dot boutique."

A formal grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., according to the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce.

The Downtown Burlingame Businesses Instagram account welcomed the shop to the avenue on Sept. 1, suggesting the store opened its doors ahead of the formal grand opening event.

@downtownburlingame: "Something new just landed on the Ave: Welcome Stella & Dot! ✨ We're so excited to have them join the Downtown Burlingame family, we'll be sharing more soon!"

Founded by Jessica Herrin, Stella & Dot built its name as an online accessories company. The brand describes its mission as empowering women "through timeless designs," according to its website. The Burlingame storefront marks the company's first step into physical retail after years of selling exclusively online.

The location carries a hometown connection. The company's corporate office sits just a few blocks away, at 1375 Burlingame Ave., according to the company's website.

A job listing on the company's website indicated Stella & Dot was hiring two key-holder positions to staff the new location. The posting described the roles as helping "bring it to life," a signal the company is building a small team around the store rather than running it as a temporary pop-up.

No details on regular store hours or what previously occupied the 1412 Burlingame Ave. space were available as of publication. The grand opening runs Saturday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1412 Burlingame Ave.
