Burlingame's summer calendar is stacked with free, walkable events across downtown and Broadway. Here's what's coming up.

Thursday farmers market on Park Road

The Burlingame Fresh Thursday Market runs every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Park Road and Burlingame Avenue through October, according to the Downtown Burlingame events page. The market features California growers, organic produce, fresh flowers, and local artisans. Admission is free.

The market is coordinated by the City of Burlingame and the Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce. The season opened Thursday, May 7, and the Chamber encourages shoppers to bring reusable grocery bags. A year-round Sunday market runs at the same location from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Music in the Park

Burlingame's free Friday concert series continues at Washington Park, 850 Burlingame Ave. The next show is Dept. of Rock on Friday, July 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to the city of Burlingame's events calendar. Bayonics, a Latin reggae band, closes out the series on Friday, August 7. Beer and wine are available for purchase at the park.

Jazz on Broadway

Trio to Jazz performs at Broadway Grill, 1400 Broadway, on Saturday, July 18, at 6 p.m. Denny Berthiaume Jazz plays Max's of Burlingame, 1250 Old Bayshore Hwy., on Friday, July 24, at 5:30 p.m. Both events were listed in the Patch AM newsletter.

Burlingame on the Avenue

The 32nd annual Burlingame on the Avenue street festival returns Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., along Burlingame Avenue. Produced by the Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with California Artists, the two-day event drew 65,000 attendees last year, according to the event's Eventbrite listing. The festival features live bands, food vendors, a kids zone, a Sunday classic car show, and a beer and wine garden.
