The Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce is looking for neighbors willing to lend a hand at the 33rd Annual Burlingame On The Avenue festival, which takes over downtown Burlingame Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 16.

The two-day street festival draws more than 65,000 visitors to the avenue each year for live music, food vendors, a beer and wine booth, a children's zone with rides and face painting, nonprofit booths and displays from Burlingame Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation departments. Admission is free.

The Chamber posted its volunteer call on July 29, inviting community members to help for a few hours or a full day. Interested residents can sign up through SignUpGenius.

The festival, produced by the Chamber in collaboration with California Artists, launched in 1995 and has anchored the avenue's August calendar for more than three decades. As we reported July 21, the event returns to its familiar stretch of downtown Burlingame Avenue.

The Chamber confirmed Aug. 1 the event is on track. This year's main stage lineup features seven acts across both days. Saturday's bill runs from Brian Wachhorst Acoustic Duo at 10 a.m. through The Cocktail Monkeys at 12:30 p.m. and closes with Carnaval, a Santana tribute band, playing until 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, opens with Drew Harrison's John Lennon Tribute at 10 a.m., followed by Sheryl and the Pretenders, Freestone Peaches (an Allman Brothers tribute) and the Dan Ashley Band Country Rock Project, which wraps the stage at 6:10 p.m.

The 3rd Annual Wheels Through Time Car Show runs Sunday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the avenue, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Next Play is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Town Square area.
